Privacy
This website does not collect any personal data. It has no forms, no accounts, no newsletter sign-up and no analytics or tracking.
The text on this site is set in Jost and Newsreader, which are loaded from Google Fonts. To show them, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy (opens in a new tab).
Phone numbers open your own phone app. The "Open in Maps" and "Apple Maps" links open Google Maps or Apple Maps, and links to the RSPCA and the Charity Commission open their websites. Each of those has its own privacy policy.
The fingerpost on the home page copies our postal address to your clipboard only when you tap one of its arms. Nothing is sent anywhere.
If you phone us or write to us, ask us how we look after the details you give us.
Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website. It has been built to:
- work with a keyboard alone, with a "Skip to content" link, visible focus outlines, and a menu that opens and closes with Enter and Escape;
- respect the "reduce motion" setting on your device: the photographs no longer crossfade, the parallax layers stand still, the pinned scenes become ordinary sections and the cats stop walking;
- keep text readable on top of photographs, with a soft veil or a pale panel behind it, aiming for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 for body text (WCAG 2.2 level AA);
- give a text alternative for every image that carries meaning, and hide purely decorative drawings from screen readers;
- read in full without JavaScript, and reflow on small screens without sideways scrolling.
Some decorative scenes, such as the walk along the bank and the reflection in the water, are visual only. Everything they say is also given in plain text.
If something on this site does not work for you, please tell us by phone on 07426 170295 or by post at the address below, and say which page and what went wrong.
Complaints and concerns
If you are unhappy with anything we have done, please tell us first, by phone on 07426 170295 or in writing to the address below, so that we can try to put it right.
If your concern is not resolved, you can raise it with our regulator, the Charity Commission for England and Wales: Complain about a charity on GOV.UK (opens in a new tab).
If you are worried about an animal's welfare, see Found a cat that needs help? on our home page.
